Art History and Appreciation for 5-7’s: Session 4
Through this session, students will learn about a new artist each week, view works of art by great artists and discover the materials and techniques used to make pictures. We will also experiment with our own mediums such as water colors, oil and chalk pastels, tempura paint, clay and perhaps dot art so the kids can express themselves creatively. These opportunities to experiment with the different styles of various artists will hopefully increase their art vocabulary and appreciation, improve fine motor skills, and develop a sense of innovation and creativity. Keep in mind that the process of making pictures is most important, not the finished product!
